Situation

How do I remove the Home Directory value from an existing user in DRA?

Resolution

Currently as of DRA 8.6 SP1 the ability to remove an existing users Home Share or Home Directory depends on the status of the following Home Directory / Home Share Policies:

  • Rename a user's home directory when user account is renamed
  • Move a user's home directory when the user's Home directory property was modified

If the above polices ARE checked, DRA will require a value to be set for Path or Connect within the user's Profile properties.

If the above polices ARE NOT checked, DRA will allow for blank values to be set for Path or Connect within the user's Profile properties.

 

Cause

DRA allows Assistant Admin's to update an AD User's value for Home Directory. This is the value that creates a drive mapping on the user's logged on machine for personal data storage.
