Discovery_Exchange fails stating that it does not have permission to pull server information from AD (NETIQKB72857)

NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
NetIQ AppManager 8.x

Situation

Exchange discovery fails when ran against the virtual or physical nodes on a cluster or a stand alone server stating that the discovery does not have permission to pull the server information from the Active Directory container.

Resolution

Set the qexch2k1a service to run as the same account that the netiq appmanager resource monitor service runs as. This should be a domain administrator account or at the very least have the required privileges to access active directory.

This configuration can also be set by running the Exchange configuration utility that runs with the installer and is installed on the exchange server when the module is installed.

Cause

The account that the Exchange module service (qexch2k1a) is running as does not have the required permissions to access the active directory container with the appropriate server information.
