Resolution
The Aegis Remedy Adapter makes a check for a specific key to pre-exist on the OS, before allowing the Adapter to be installed. This key is not created by NetIQ Aegis when installed on Windows 2008 or Windows 2008 SP1. As a result, the Remedy Adapter installation fails the pre-req check.
The registry key is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SYSTEM | CurrentControlSet | Enum | Root | LEGACY_AEGISNAMESPACEPROVIDER
This issue can be resolved by following these steps:
- Open the windows services snap-in (services.msc).
- Locate the NetIQ Aegis Namespace Provider service.
- Open the properties of the NetIQ Aegis Namespace Provider service and this will create the required key.
- Close the properties and retry the Remedy Adapter installation.
