NetIQ Aegis DRA Adapter 1.0

Situation

Resolves an Issue with Spaces in Passwords

Resolution

Why Install This Hotfix?

This hotfix addresses the following issues:

Resolves an Issue with Spaces in Passwords
Before you apply this hotfix, the DRA adapter does not support passwords that contain spaces or control characters, such as Ctrl+R. After you apply this hotfix, the DRA adapter will support valid Run As account passwords with spaces and control characters. (ENG273826)

Resolves an Issue with a Misleading Error Message
Before you apply this hotfix, if you specify an invalid DRA user as the Assistant Admin in the Adapter Configuration Utility, a misleading error message indicates you need to confirm the password. After you apply this hotfix, if you specify an invalid DRA user as the Assistant Admin, the Adapter Configuration Utility will display an error message stating the user is not a valid DRA user. (ENG286917)

Resolves an Issue with Case-Sensitive OnePoint Paths
Before you apply this hotfix, DRA adapter activities require case-sensitive OnePoint paths. After you apply this hotfix, DRA activities will not require case-sensitive OnePoint paths. (ENG286998)

Resolves an Issue with Computer Synchronization at Startup
Before you apply this hotfix, the DRA adapter automatically synchronizes computers. Synchronizing a large number of computers can adversely affect the adapter's response time. After you apply this hotfix, a new registry setting for each Multi-Master Set (MMS) in your Aegis namespace allows you to disable automatic synchronization. Disabling synchronization will not affect workflow functionality since DRA activities do not use computer resources. (ENG287006)

To turn off computer synchronization for an MMS in your Aegis namespace, complete the following steps on the Aegis Server computer:

  1. In your registry, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NetIQ\AegisIQConnect\providers\IQDRA\MMS\draSyncComputers, where MMS is the name of the MMS for which you want to turn off synchronization.
  2. Set draSyncComputers to 0.
  3. Restart the NetIQ Aegis Namespace Provider service.

Resolves an Issue with Resource Group Synchronization
Before you apply this hotfix, the DRA adapter automatically synchronizes resource groups every 30 minutes, which causes the Configuration Console to time out when you try to view resources. After you apply this hotfix, the DRA adapter will no longer synchronize resource groups, and the Configuration Console will not time out when you view resources. Disabling synchronization will not affect workflow functionality since DRA activities do not use resource groups.(ENG296460)

Resolves an Issue with Trailing Spaces in User Names
Before you apply this hotfix, if you configure any of the following activity parameters with a trailing space, the activity fails at run time but creates the object in DRA:

  • Full Name parameter on the Create User activity
  • Full Name parameter on the Create Contact activity
  • Name parameter on the Create Group activity
  • Name parameter on the Create OU activity

For example, if you specify a user name with a trailing space, such as John Doe_, where _ is a space, the Create User activity fails at run time but creates the account in DRA. After you apply this hotfix, the activities will trim the trailing space at run time and complete successfully. (ENG286695)
