Environment

NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
NetIQ AppManager Control Center 7.0.x
NetIQ AppManager for Windows OS Module 7.x

Situation

Discovery_NT fails for Windows 2003 R2 using the base Windows OS Module
Discovery_NT script generates error against the base Windows OS module (NT) that is installed on a Windows 2003 R2 server: Discovery job ##### failed.
Discovery_NT failed, detailed event message reads: 'SQLSTATE=01000, native error=0, msg='[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Ongoing transaction has been committed'
SQLSTATE=01000, msg='[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] Ongoing transaction has been committed'

Resolution

You can correct this issue, complete the following steps:

  1. Upgrade the AppManager Repository with the Windows OS 7.5.208 or higher module.
  2. Upgrade the Windows OS (NT) module to 7.5.208 or later on the server that is running the failed discovery job.
  3. Rerun the Discovery_NT job on the newly upgraded module.

The Discovery_NT job should now finish successfully.

Cause

This error occurs most often when the Windows OS module is an older version installed on a later version of windows, most likely Windows 2003 R2 or above. This is also module specific and is not solved by running a more up-to-date Discovery_NT KS.
