Environment

Security Manager 6.5

Hot Fix 72351

Situation

In the 6.5 Access configuration wizard, they are NOT able to add the Universal_group_OnePointOpUsers to the SM local group OnePointOpUsers. However they CAN add the Universal_group_OnePointOpUsers to the SM local group OnePointOpUsers if they use computer management\users and groups. After adding through computer management\users and groups, it will show up in the Access configuration wizard.

However there is still no way to get it added to the ?security permissions? in the control center.

Resolution

This Hotfix only applies to NetIQ Security Manager 6.5 SP2 and corrects the following issues:

  • Resolves Issues With Setting Security Permissions for Universal Computer Groups and Users ? Before you apply this Hotfix, the Set Security Permissions task under Configuration Groups Tasks does not set permissions for Active Directory universal computer groups or users in nested groups. After you apply this Hotfix, you can set permissions for universal computer groups and any user in any level of a group in the Set Security Permissions window. (ENG286586, ENG289061)
  • Resolves an Issue Where the Development Console Does Not Display Certain Rules ? Before you apply this Hotfix, the Development Console does not display processing rules created in Control Center using the Create Alert Based on This Event task. After you apply this Hotfix, the Development Console properly displays all subsequent processing rules you create using the Create Alert Based on This Event task in Control Center.

When you apply this Hotfix, the Development Console does not display processing rules created before you applied the Hotfix. If you want to view those rules in the Development Console, you must apply the Hotfix and then recreate your previous rules using the Control Center.
