Situation

How do I tell what version of the Secure Configuration Manager Agent for Windows is being deployed?

Resolution

Complete the following steps to verify that the Windows agent installation was successful.

To check the installed Windows agent version:

1.Log on the Windows agent computer.

2.Verify the install.ini files in the following folders list the version as 5.8.xx:

路         C:\Program Files\NetIQ\Vulnerability Manager Agent\RInstall\Audit&Secure

路         C:\Program Files\NetIQ\Vulnerability Manager Agent\RInstall\IISProvider

路         C:\Program Files\NetIQ\Vulnerability Manager Agent\RInstall\SQLProvider

路         C:\Program Files\NetIQ\Vulnerability Manager Agent\RInstall\SQL2005Provider

路         C:\Program Files\NetIQ\Vulnerability Manager Agent\RInstall\winOracleProvider

Cause

 When deploying the NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager Agent for Windows there is no displayed version during installation.  The installer does not display current version and this makes it difficult to be able to determine if updates are being installed.
