Situation
Can I configure AppManager to continue logging relevant information but exclude the KPTrace entries in the NetIQmc log?
Resolution
The KPTrace generates quite a few entries in the mctrace.log that may hinder the troubleshooting process or may cause relevant information in the logs to be overwritten over a period of time. Thus, in order to prevent the KPTrace information from being logged perform the following steps on the NetIQ AppManager Agent machine:
Launch the Windows Registry Editor and change the value for the key below to 0
HKLM | Software | NetIQ | AppManager | 4.0 | NetIQmc | Tracing | TraceKS = 0
After updating the registry value restart the NetIQ Client Resource Monitor Service.
