Situation
The Log Archive Service stops and then users are unable to connect to DRA.
The NetIQ Administration Service on the primary Administration server intermittently stops while attempting to read license information when users connect to the service.
Users are unable to change the focus server in the Web Console when selecting the "Connect to the best Administration server" option.
The NetIQ Administration Service stops when a user edits event log properties for event logs with a backslash character (/) in the event log name.
Users are unable to run scripts against the DRA 8.5 ADSI provider when encryption is enabled.

Resolution
This hotfix resolves the following issues:
- The Log Archive Service stops and then users are unable to connect to DRA. (ENG284517)
- The NetIQ Administration Service on the primary Administration server intermittently stops while attempting to read license information when users connect to the service. (ENG286643)
- Users are unable to change the focus server in the Web Console when selecting the "Connect to the best Administration server" option. (ENG287592)
- The NetIQ Administration Service stops when a user edits event log properties for event logs with a backslash character (/) in the event log name. (ENG283614)
- Users are unable to run scripts against the DRA 8.5 ADSI provider when encryption is enabled. (ENG288323)
Note: This hotfix requires NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator 8.5 Service Pack 1.
To install this hotfix, close all DRA consoles and run the DRA8501_Hotfix72249.exe file on each Administration server computer, Web Console server computer, and DRA client computer.
This hotfix modifies the following files (Build Number 83) in the installation folder, by default C:\Program Files\NetIQ\DRA:
