Situation
Unable to discover Cluster Virtual Server with AppManager for Windows version 7.6 or later
After applying AppManager for Windows version 7.6 or later and any required hotfixes, you are still unable to discover the Cluster Virtual Server. No failure events are created. Split Treeview has been disabled but still no Cluster Virtual Server objects are visible.
After applying AppManager for Windows version 7.6 or later and any required hotfixes, you are still unable to discover the Cluster Virtual Server. No failure events are created. Split Treeview has been disabled but still no Cluster Virtual Server objects are visible.
Resolution
Steps to correct this issue:
- Apply the AppManager for Windows module to all Console machines.
- Drop a new Discovery_Cluster job on one of the cluster nodes.
The new Cluster Virtual Server object should be discovered.
Cause
The AppManager for Windows module versions 7.6 or later require that the module be applied to all Console machines. The installation adds a new console plugin required by the Discovery_Cluster Knowledge Script. If the plugin is not available the Knowledge Script is unable to determine the Repository version and will skip the discovery of the Cluster Virtual Server.
Additional Information
Formerly known as NETIQKB72214
You can verify that the console plugin has been added by confirming that WinOSBrowserExtensions.vbs exists in the NetIQ\AppManager\bin\plugins\ksparamextensions directory, on your AppManager Operator Console machine.
