Situation

My iSeries agent for SCM is displaying inconsistent/weird behavior, what logs should I collect?

Resolution

Turn up logging:
ADDLIBLE PSCOMMON
CHGJOBD JOBD(PSCOMMON/PSEAGENT)   LOG(4 00 *SECLVL)  LOGCLPGM(*YES)
CHGJOBD JOBD(PSCOMMON/PSECA)   LOG(4 00 *SECLVL)  LOGCLPGM(*YES)
PSECONFIG      <- change Logging Level: to 9 and press F10.

wrklnk '/etc/*.*'
Take option 2=Edit on vigilent.conf and press enter.
On the  "Edit File: /etc/vigilent.conf" screen scroll down to the LogLevel= line and change the value after the = (for example LogLevel=1) to 4 and hit F2 and then F3.

Afterwards, please restart the ZPSE subsystem:
ENDSBS ZPSE *IMMED
STRSBS PSCOMMON/ZPSE

Then, on the SCM machine, note the time and run the check that returns the error.

Log collection:
End the ZPSE subsystem and send me all spoolfiles associated with the PSOBJOWNS profile with a date/time after the time noted.
Also, from the /PENTASAFE/VSA/CMNAGENT/LOG/ IFS directory send me the last VigilentAgent_2003.Log file and the  scresponse_*.xml and screquest_*.xml files with the most recent date/time, there
should be one of each.

From the SCM system, please send me the core.log file that should reside in the C:\PROGRAM FILES\NETIQ\Secure Configuration Manager\Core Services\Log directory on the core services system.
