Situation
When attempting to start the NetIQ Security Manager service it fails to start with the error below:
Event ID: 9025 The NetIQ Security Manager service failed to start. Error: Unable to register components: The class is configured to run as a security id different from the caller

Resolution
This is most likely caused by a race condition that can occur in 6.0 and 6.5. This issue has been resolved in Security Manager 6.5 Service Pack 1.
Cause
A possible race condition on many x64 machines and faster 32 bit servers can cause two actions during the Security Manager agent startup to interfere with permissions.

Renaming the "C:\Program Files\NetIQ Security Manager\ONEPOINT\SMConfigureDCOM.exe" file on the agent and restarting the service should resolve this issue as a temporary fix until SM 6.5 SP1 can be installed.
