Environment

Security Manager 6.5.x

Situation

You are unable to install Security Manager Reporting, and receive the following error:

Setup was unable to install the Analysis service plugin for SM

Resolution

To resolve this, do not leave the CubeDepot field blank. If the installation is going onto a SQL server that has all of the SQL components requried for Security Manager Reporting to function, then input the same HOSTNAME\INSTANCENAME as the other fields. If that does not work, remove the \INSTANCENAME

Cause

During installation, if you leave the field for the CubeDepot blank, the installation will continue through and start to process. During the installation itself, when it gets to the point of installing the SMCubeDepot database and the analysis cube, the installation will then fail and roll back.
