Link missing to configure Log Archives for Central Computer (NETIQKB71776)

The purpose of this article is to provide steps on how to fix a problem where the link to Configure Log Manager is missing from the Configuration Wizard - Log Manager window.


The only way to repair the link is to restore the Security Manager Infrastructure module. To repair the module, see the following steps:

  • In the installation files that you usedto install Security Manager, there is a directory named Modules. Inside this directory find the module with the following name:

Security Manager Infrastructure.nqm

  • Copy Security Manager Infrastructure.nqm to a computer that has the Development Console installed.
  • Open the Development Console on that computer.
  • Right Click on Processing Rule Groups and click on Restore NetIQ Module.
  • Click Browse.
  • Locate and select the Security Manager Infrastructure.nqm.
  • Click Ok.
  • Select the following radio button.

Replace existing rule groups with those of the imported module.

  • Click import.


If there is a problem with the installation of the Security Manager Infrastructure module, it could cause the link to Configure Log Manager to be missing.
