Situation
After completing a manual agent install using the manualagent.msi, the security manager service fails to start and then the installation rolls back by removing everything except the Security Manager service.
Resolution
Use the SM6.00.00_SP3_ManualAgent.msi on windows 2008 OS's.
1. go to https://www.netiq.com/support/sm/extended/sp.asp
2. download the SM60 SP3.exe
3. Unpack the executable and to find the SM6.00.00_SP3_ManualAgent.msi
Cause
The manualagent.msi is not supported on windows 2008.
