Situation

ksg_id field not created in .baroc file

Resolution

Hotfix 71477 for NetIQ AppManager Tivoli connector has been released to correct this issue.  You should install this Hotfix using the instrucitons provided in this article, or in the Readme file tha tis included in the Hotfix package.  You can download the Hotfix from the following location:

Why Install This Release?

This release is hotfix 71477, which resolves the following issue:

  • ksg_id field not created in .baroc file. Before you install this release, the .baroc file created by the Connector installer (NQConnector.exe) does not describe the ksg_id field (the Knowledge Script Group identifier field) that is contained in events forwarded to Tivoli. Tivoli uses the .baroc file to recognize the fields in events forwarded to the Tivoli console. After you install this release, NQConnector.exe creates a .baroc file that contains the ksg_id field, allowing Tivoli to recognize and parse all fields in forwarded events. (ENG260860)

System Requirements

The Connector has the following system requirements:

  • AppManager version 7.x installed on the repository, agent, and console computers
  • Tivoli Enterprise Console (TEC) version 3.9 or Tivoli Management Framework version 4.1.1
    Note Version 4.1.1 is required to synchronize event status. Either version 3.9 or version 4.1.1 is required to forward events.

Hotfix 71441, January 2009

Hotfix 71441 resolved the following issue:

  • Blank fields in AppManager events forwarded to Tivoli. Before you install this release, the Connector leaves some fields blank in the AppManager events it forwards to Tivoli. The Connector is unable to properly read and set the AppManager event severity mappings while reading the registry on the NetIQ management server. The following fields are affected: Severity, Sub-Source, and Message. After you install this release, a change in the way the Connector reads the registry enables the Connector to read the values for the affected fields, and then populate the fields in the events it forwards to Tivoli.
