Environment

Directory and Resource Administrator 8.1
Directory and Resource Administrator 8.1 SP1

Situation

Managed Groups rule only displays groups having a user in the Managed By attribute and not groups having a group in the Managed By attribute.

Unable to view groups in the Managed By field.

Resolution

NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator version 8.1 Service Pack 2 Hotfix 71337

Hotfix 71337 corrects the way Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) handles an issue with the Managed Groups rule. The Managed Groups rule only displays groups having a user in the Managed By attribute and not groups having a group in the Managed By attribute. This issue occurs even if the Assistant Admin (AA) is a member of the group available in the Managed By attribute. After applying this hotfix, the Managed Groups rule displays groups having either a user or a group in the Managed By attribute.

To install this hotfix, perform the following steps on each Administration server computer:

Note: You need to install DRA 8.1 Service Pack 2 and Hotfix 71234 before installing Hotfix 71337.

  1. Close all DRA user interfaces.
  2. Run the DRA8102_Hotfix71337.msi file.

Hotfix 71337 modifies the Accounts.dll file on each Administration server computer. By default, this file is located in the Program Files\NetIQ\DRA folder.
