Receiving DAS error after doing Service pack 1 install for Security Manager 6.0 (NETIQKB70850)

Security Manager 6.0 SP-1


After Doing Security Manager 6.0 SP-1 install I am receiving the following error in my event logs:

The Data Access Server (DAS) on computer ******* returned an error. System error code: -2147168246 System error text: Unable to enlist in the transaction. DAS method called: ConfigurationSelectByComponentNameAndComputerId Called from file: .\DatabaseContext.cpp Called from line: 252

Consoles open with with DAS error.


To resolve this issue, you must enable Network DTC on all central computers and Database Containing the OnePoint Database by using the following steps:

  1. Open Componant Services.
  2. Right click my computer and select properties.
  3. Select MSDTC tab
  4. Click Security Configuration Button.
  5. Check enable Network DTC Access.
  6. Check all the following - allow remote clients, remote administration, allow inbound, allow outbound, no authentication required, enable XA transactions.
  7. Click OK.
  8. MSDTC will restart at this point.
  9. Restart SM Service.


Currently Unknown, but resolved within Security Manager 6.0 SP-2.
