Environment
NetIQ AppManager 6.0.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x
NetIQ AppManager 8.x
Situation
NetIQ Weekly QDB task in SQL runs for a very long time
Resolution
This is normal behavior.
If the task is taking too long (and possibly preventing other SQL tasks from completing) you can set your Aggregation timeframe (retention period) to a longer amount of retention time, which will reduce the amount of data needing to be Aggregated. You should then manually re-run the NetIQ Weekly QDB job. This should allow the task to run in a shorter amount of time.
You can then increment the Aggregation retention value in small amounts, slightly reducing the amount of data to retain each time, and then again re-run the NetIQ Weekly QDB job manually each time that you further shorten the Aggregation period.
Once you've Aggregated Archive Data down to the intended level of retention, the NetIQ Weekly QDB SQL job should take less time to complete on its own during its regularly scheduled weekly iterations.
