Resolution

Symptom: RRM Configuration Wizard (AP0034R) error: "Value specified for anonymous profile is invalid."

Symptom: Change FTP Attribute (PSCHGFTPA) command error: "Value specified for anonymous profile is invalid."

Fact: NetIQ Security Solutions for iSeries 8.0

Fact: PSSecure

Fact: Remote Request Management (RRM)

Cause: The user profile name specified for 'Anonymous profile' does not exist.

Fix: Create the user profile you want to specify for 'Anonymous profile'.

To allow anonymous FTP, create user profile ANONYMOUS and assign it a password value of *NONE. This prevents anyone from signing on to your iSeries directly with a user ID of ANONYMOUS. In other words, the only way someone can use ANONYMOUS to logon to your iSeries is by way of the FTP server and the ANONYMOUS ID enabled by your FTP exit program. If they try to use ANONYMOUS to logon to your iSeries any other way, the password value of *NONE on the ANONYMOUS user profile will stop them.
