Resolution

Symptom:  DAR Access Report is empty

Symptom:  DAR not journaling OP Entry Type transactions

Goal:  How can I get Open and Close events to show up on the DAR Access Report?

Fact:  Data Auditing and Reporting

Fact:  System Auditing and Reporting

Fact:  PSAudit

Fact:  NetIQ Security Solutions for iSeries 8.0

Fix:

Use command DSPFD for the file in question.  Check the value for parameter "Journal Entries to be Omitted"  If it is set to *OPNCLO, no entries will be journaled when the file is opened or closed.  The parameter can be changed to *NONE to capture these events, but you must first end journaling, then restart it, as in the following example:

ENDJRNPF FILE(library/file)

STRJRNPF FILE(library/file) JRN(library/journal) IMAGES(*BOTH) OMTJRNE(*NONE)
