Can a Central Computer be used to monitor a network device?

A Central Computer can monitor a network device via a syslog provider, or other providers. However, this is not recommended because it adds overhead and could eventually deplete the  resources of the of the Central Computer. It is advisable to setup an agent as a syslog listener with a syslog provider, rather than using a Central Computer for this purpose.

The customer would like to use the Central Computer as a syslog receiver.
