Environment

Directory & Resource Administrator 7.x
Directory & Resource Administrator 8.x

Situation

DRA does not always remove registry settings on the Primary DRA server for a de-commissioned Secondary DRA server.

Registry keys remain after uninstalling DRA.

Why does DRA not delete all registry keys after an uninstall?
DRA does not always remove registry keys after uninstall.

Resolution

The Secondary DRA servers need to be removed from the Multi Master Set from the Primary DRA server prior to being de-comissioned and/or prior to uninstalling DRA on the Secondary DRA server.  Additionally, DRA will sometimes leave behind registry keys after an uninstall in the following hive:

HKLM\Software\Mission Critical Software\OnePoint\

To ensure that all registry keys are removed after uninstalling DRA it may be necessary to manually delete any remaining registry keys in the above location.

NetIQ Technical Support and Development has recognized this as an ongoing issue in Directory and Resource Administrator and will address the problem in a fture release of the product.

Cause

The Secondary DRA server was not successfully removed from the Multi Master Set on the Primary DRA server prior to uninstall.

DRA does not always remove registry keys after uninstall.
