What affect will the United States Daylight Savings Time change have on Analysis Center?

Resolution

The WinOS agent is beholden to the timezone as defined in the locale settings of the Operating System.  In 2006, Indiana celebrated DST for the first time in history.  Microsoft provided advisories to the effect, as well as a "hotfix" which merely allowed for a remote way to update the time zone from the old "Indiana" TZ to the new time zone.

For UNIX operating systems, each O/S will likely have it's own patch to roll out, as was necessary for last years Indiana time shift.  Any recent issues affecting the AM Agent should be included within the AM 6.5 Unix Agent hotfix.

For complete information about how the time shift will affect your Operating System, look for O/S updates for whatever O/S currently in place.  AM will report correct time as long as the O/S does. Microsoft provides the following reference kb articles:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/timezone/dst2007.mspx

and

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928388 , To validate that you've installed this update, just open control panel add remove programs, select  Show updates and this hotfix should be listed.

For Analysis Center:

In some instances, Analysis Center may display the incorrect time range if the DST update is performed when the AC Console is open.  Close the AC Console, verify the required ETL and OLAP Processing jobs have completed and then launch the AC Console to execute the report.  Please reference NETIQKB52458 for other information.
