Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x

Situation

Parent job status does not refresh correctly when child job is restarted or propagation changes occur
Incorrect job status after a child job is restarted or has been modified

Resolution

NetIQ Corporation has corrected this issue with the release of Hotfix 56094.

To install the hotfix:

  1. Download the installation package https://download.netiq.com/KnowledgeDepot/AM/Hotfixes/Recommended/AM602_Hotfix56094.exe .
  2. You must update your AppManager repositories only once. The setup program updates all relevant AppManager components on a computer.

The AM602_Hotfix56094.exe download package contains the following files:

    • AM602_Hotfix56094_setup.exe
    • AM602_Readme56094.htm

To install this hotfix, run AM602_Hotfix56094_setup.exe on all repository computers. For repositories running in a clustered environment, run AM602_Hotfix56094_setup.exe on all nodes in the cluster.

The MAINT.LOG file lists all changes and problems encountered during the installation process. The MAINT.ERR log file lists only the problems encountered. By default, these file are located in the \NetIQ\Temp\NetIQ_Debug folder.

Cause

This issue is caused by a timing issue within the netiq management service. When jobs are being resynchronized, there is a SQL stored procedure being called and potentially you could see child jobs being restarted, but the parent job show up as start pending within the operator console.
