fix

If the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) 8.0 Recycle Bin is enabled, all User, Group, Contact, and Computer objects are sent there when deleted using DRA.  This is an all-or-none functionality.  DRA does not currently allow you to select which object types to include or exclude from being sent to the Recycle Bin.  In DRA version 7.5 and earlier, only User accounts are managed by the Recycle Bin.

As a workaround, a script is available on the Knowledge Depot that allows deletion of users, groups, contacts, or computers to bypass the Recycle Bin. The script ByPassRecycleBin.vbs should be set as a Pre-Task trigger associated with any of the following operations as needed:

  • ComputerDelete
  • ContactDelete
  • GroupDelete
  • UserDelete

The script can be downloaded from https://www.netiq.com/support/dra/extended/knowledgedepot/default.asp under Trigger & Policy Scripts.

An Enhancement Request has been opened with Development to include this functionality in a future version of Directory and Resource Administrator.
