Directory and Resource Administrator 8.0
Attempts to manually install the Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) agent on a 64-bit domain controller generates a 'failed' error message.
Error Message: Failed to install the DRA Agent, hr = C0043528
Application event log shows: Event ID 13608: The DRA Agent can only run computers based on INTEL architecture. The attempt to determine the CPU architecture of DC_name failed.
The install code for the DRA Agent does an explicit check of either an Alpha or x86 environment on the Domain Controller when the agent is attempting to be installed. The 64-bit hardware check returns 'unknown' to the install code causing the error message.
This issue is addressed in NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator and Exchange Administrator version 8.0 Hotfix 54920.
Hotfix 54920 corrects an issue with the way Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) handles the installation of DRA Agents on 64-bit domain controllers.
If your domain includes a 64-bit domain controller with the primary Administration server running on a 32-bit member server of this domain, and if you try to install the DRA Agent on the 64-bit domain controller using the Delegation and Configuration console or the EaAgentUtil command in the CLI, the installation fails. This hotfix ensures the successful installation of the DRA Agent on a 64-bit domain controller by modifying the prerequisite check that searches for the specific processor architecture.
Note: This hotfix requires DRA version 8.0.
To download and install this hotfix:
- Close all DRA user interfaces.
- Run the DRA80000_Hotfi54920.msi file on each Administration server computer and and on each computer where you installed an Account and Resource Management console or Delegation and Configuration console.
Hotfix 54920 modifies the following files on each computer where you installed an Account and Resource Management console or Delegation and Configuration console. By default, these files are located in the Program Files\NetIQ\DRA folder.
This hotfix also modifies the following files on each computer where you installed an Administration server. By default, these files are located in the Program Files\NetIQ\DRA folder.

At this time, DRA 7.x and 8.0 will only check for 32-bit OS versions and no support for 64-bit Operating Systems is provided. The target release for support/install in 64-bit environments is Service Pack 1 (SP1) for DRA 8.0. No release date for 8.0 SP1 has been determined at this time.
