AppManager UNIX Agent 6.5
fact
AppManager 6.0.2
symptom
Operator Console does not display the correct version number of the AppManager Unix Agent after upgrading to version 6.5
symptom
Newly Discovered machines display the correct version number in the Operator Console, however machines on which the AppManager Unix Agent was upgraded from a previous version is not displayed correctly.
symptom
Upgrading the AppManager Unix Agent on Solaris reflects the correct version number but upgrading the Agent on Linux does not update the version number displayed in the Operator Console
cause
This problem occurs when upgrading the AppManager for UNIX agent to version 6.5 as the
UpdateMCVersLang.SQL
stored procedure does not update the AppManager agent versionfix
NetIQ has resolved this issue with the release of Hotfix 54829. With this hotfix, the UpdateMCVersLang.SQL
stored procedure now compares the AppManager agent version of the current installation with that of the upgrade. If the versions do not match, the UpdateMCVersLang.SQL
stored procedure updates the AppManager agent to be the version of the upgrade, which is higher than the existing one.
When upgrading, the UpdateMCVersLang.SQL stored procedure does not compare the AppManager agent version of the current installation with that of the upgrade.
Update only your AppManager repository computer. You do not need to update managed computers or consoles.
