Environment

NetIQ Analysis Center 2.x
Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Service

Situation

Error: The permissions granted to user 'domain\account' are insufficient for performing operation
Permissions error when attempting to deploy reports

Resolution

To deploy reports, the account used when logging into Analysis Center must have at least Content Manager permissions within SRS.  The Content Manager permissions allows reports to be created\published within SRS.
  1. Go into the SRS report Manager (or Start > Programs > Microsoft SQL Server > Reporting Services > Report Manager)
  2. At the HOME level, click the PROPERTIES tab
  3. Verify the group your account in a member of (within SRS) has at least the Content Manager Role (optional - you may have to EDIT the permissions if the Content Manager role is not included)
  4. If your group or account is not listed, you can use the New Role Assignment to configure the appropriate permissions

For more details or information, please consult the Reporting Services Books Online.

In some instances, this process may spawn a different error related to the SRS Data Source.  You can verify the Data Source information or recreate the Data Source with the following KB article: NETIQKB50432.

Separately, if you are launching the AC Console on a system with UAC enabled, even if you have set the appropriate permissions for the account, it is possible that this issue may still arise.  To avoid this situation, simply launch the AC Console using:  Right-Click -> 'Run as Administrator'.

Cause

The sepcified account does not have at least Content Manager permissions within SQL Reporting Services (SRS)
