fix

The Replication folder under the DRA installation directory on the Primary DRA server contains the security model or Multi-Master Set (MMS) files used for Multi-Master synchronization with all Secondary DRA servers.  Likewise, the Refresh folder on the Secondary DRA servers is where these files are replicated to and loaded from so that Secondary DRA servers benefit from the same MMS as the Primary DRA server.  These files are automatically sent to Secondary DRA servers when scheduled or manual MMS synchronization occurs.  If there are problems with MMS replication, the files can be manually copied from the Primary DRA server to the Secondary DRA servers as a work around.  To do this:

  1. On the Primary DRA server under ..\Program Files\NetIQ\DRA\Replication, copy all files except the 'OLD' directory and it's contents.  The number of files may vary depending on your security model.  Possible files include, but are not limited to:
    • Accounts<primary_dra_servername_file_increment_number>
    • Exchange<primary_dra_servername_file_increment_number>
    • Operations<primary_dra_servername_file_increment_number>
    • Policy<primary_dra_servername_file_increment_number>
    • Schema<primary_dra_servername_file_increment_number>
    • Security<primary_dra_servername_file_increment_number>
    • ServerConfiguration<primary_dra_servername_file_increment_number>
    • UserInterface<primary_dra_servername_file_increment_number>
  2. Paste these files to all Secondary DRA servers under ..\Program Files\NetIQ\DRA\Refresh.
  3. Restart the NetIQ Administration Service on each Secondary DRA server after the files have been copied for them to be loaded.

note
This workaround is only valid if ALL DRA servers are running the same version.  DRA 7.5 Primary and DRA 7.5 Secondary server(s) for example.  DO NOT use this workaround in a mixed-MMS environment.
