Environment
Directory & Resource Administrator 8.x
Situation
If an attribute in a User Interface Extension does not have the "Copy this property from the cloned user" selected, the property is still copied from the cloned user if a different value is not supplied during the user clone process.
The "Copy this property from the cloned user" selection for an attribute in the User Interface Extension only applies to the Clone User Wizard GUI. It is not enforced during the actual clone process.
The "Copy this property from the cloned user" selection for an attribute in the User Interface Extension only applies to the Clone User Wizard GUI. It is not enforced during the actual clone process.
Resolution
One workaround would be to use a default value of a space " " for the attribute in the User Interface Extension. This prevents the attribute from being copied from the template user to the new user but does populate it with a space " " instead of leaving it blank.
Cause
It appears that the choice to "Copy this property from the cloned user" only applies to how the Clone User Wizard populates the field in the User Interface Extension GUI, but not during the actual clone process. Therefore, even if the field appears blank in the wizard because this choice was not made for the attribute, the attribute itself will still be copied from the template user to the new user if a different value is not supplied.
