Environment

NetIQ AppManager 6.x
NetIQ AppManager 7.0.x

Situation

How can I gather details regarding the size and condition of a customer's AppManager repository database?
How can I troubleshoot a growing AppManager Repository database?
How can I determine all the jobs that are running and their versions?
How can I tell what monitoring policies are applied and what they are applied to?

Resolution

The report contains a number of queries designed to help give a picture of the health of the AppManager Repository (QDB) - size of the database,  space used in key tables, number of objects and so on. In some cases,  explanations of the information is given with hints on the impact of that information, but this is also designed to be used in an analysis by NetIQ SEs and consultants as part of an overall health check of the AppManager environment.

No changes are made to and objects or data in the QDB, this procedure works as a "read only" process. Though a stored procedure must be installed into the database in order for the script to work.

To use this procedure, simply drag and drop the AMAdmin_Configuration_Analysis_Report on any report agent within the environment and the report will be created. View the report as you would any other report.

Disclaimer:   This code is provided "As is" and is intended to be used as an information gathering aide for NetIQ consultants and SEs. The results from this report need to be analysed by someone familar with the AppManager architecture.

Cause

There is a large amount of statistical and diagnostic information that is not readily available from the Operator Console alone, the AMAdmin_Configuration__Analysis_Report is a supplement to AppManager that is given out by TS and PS.
