Situation

Unable to load or add the NetIQ Security Manager license key using the Monitor Console.
Error: 'Class not registered Result code: 80040154
The configuration snap-in is unable to install license from the specified file.'
Cannot update or install a license.

Unable to load or add the NetIQ Security Manager license key using the Monitor Console.

Resolution

To register the license DLL files and install the license:

  1. From a command prompt, change to directory \Program Files\NetIQ Security Manager\OnePoint and enter the following commands:

    regsvr32 EEMLicense.dll
    regsvr32 MCSLicense.dll

  2. Ensure that the NetIQ Security Manager service is running and try adding the license again.


Cause

The license DLL files are not registered.
