cause
The UserBaseDN is pointed to an OU or location that does not contain the user trying to login. The user account attempting to login does not exist in the LDAP location specified by the UserBaseDN attribute within the External Authentication source properties.

fix

To resolve this issue place the user account attempting to logon in the location specified by the UserBaseDN attribute within the External Authentication source properties.  Or, modify the UserBaseDN to point to the location where the user account attempting to logon exists.
