Resolution

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 6.x

fact
Directory and Resource Administrator 7.x

symptom
Directory and Resource Administrator does not write different Event IDs for User Enable or User Disable to the Application Event log.

symptom
DRA does not differentiate between UserEnable and UserDisable in the Event logs.

cause
DRA considers any UserEnable or UserDisable operation as one in the same.

fix

Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) 7.5 and earlier treats any UserEnable or UserDisable as the same operation and does not write separate Event IDs in the Application Event log.  Depending upon the actual action being performed in DRA, it will write one of the following Event IDs:

  • Event ID 16308 UserEnable in App Evt log (Action: Enable or Disable a User Account)
  • Event ID 16020 UserSetInfo in App Evt log (Action: SetInfo)

Furthermore, the DRA Reporting Tool only displays an 'Enable or Disable a User Account' entry for either operation.

This issue is resolved in Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) 8.0 and later. Upgrade to the latest version of DRA to resolve this problem.
