I am unable to distribute reports.

symptom
Report distribution is not working, either with email or a file.

symptom
Reports are not being distributed in Vulnerability Manager.

cause
The VigilEntService account does not have the permissions necessary to distribute reports.

fix

Make sure the SQL login for the VigilEntService account belongs to the Security Administrators role.

To assign the VigilEntService account to the Security Administrators role:

  1. Open SQL Enterprise Manager.
  2. Expand Microsoft SQL Servers > SQL Server Group.
  3. Click on the server that hosts the VigilEnt database.
  4. Expand ServerName> Security > Logins.
  5. Click VigilEntService and then click Action > Properties in the toolbar.
  6. Click the Server Roles tab.
  7. Select the Security Administrators check box and click OK.
  8. Close SQL Enterprise Manager.
