When setting a password in Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA), DRA internally calls Microsoft's IADSUSER::SetPassword method.  If the password policies enforced by Anixis Password Policy Enforcer (PPE) are applied after the SetPassword method is called, the PPE policy can be enforced.

DRA also has the ability to automatically generate passwords during user creation and when a password is changed.  You can configure the complexity of the auto-generated password.  For more information, see the NetIQ Knowledgebase article:  "How do I edit the password generation policy in Directory and Resource Administrator? "
