How do I monitor communication failiures between NetIQ Management Servers and Agents?

You can monitor the health of the communication between your Management Server and your managed client by using the AMAdmin_AgentHealth Knowledge Script. In the Application Eventlog of a Managed Server the Managed Client and Client Communication Manager services generate events of several types (general, communication, job, security, and upgrade). You can use the AMAdmin_AgentHealth to filter for different variations of these events.

Whenever a particular Managed Client is unable to communicate with its designated Management Server it will generate a NetIQccm Communication entry in the Windows Application monitor only these entries you can use the ADAmin_AgentHealth knowledge script with the "Monitor Communication Events" option enabled and you will be notified anytime you Managed Clients have difficultly communicating with your Management Server.
