symptom
Console crashes when attempting to modify or run reports on some GPOs.

symptom
When attempting to modify or report on certain GPOs, the console abruptly closes.

symptom
Unable to view any groups in the filters tab when viewing GPOs with a large number of groups in the security filtering section.

cause
The security descriptor exceeds its database field limit of 7200 bytes. 

fix

Decrease the size of the security descriptor to below 7200 bytes. To decrease the size, complete the following: 

1. Create a group or groups to add the users to, and then assign the group permissions to the GPO.
2. Deselect the option to inherit permissions from the parent.
3. Remove unnecessary entries in the ACL.

Note: A request to increase the size of this field in the database is being considered for a future release. At this time, however there has been no decision made to include this feature.
