Error: 'The Module Installer failed to verify module '<module>': The module signature is invalid, missing, or from an untrusted source: A required certificate is not within its validity period when verifying against the current system clock or the timestamp in the signed file.'

symptom
Unable to import some modules

symptom
Problems installing Intrusion Manager for Windows or Security Manager Self-monitoring modules.

cause
The certificate used to sign the Security Manager Self-monitoring and Intrusion Manager for Windows modules expired on June 10th, 2006.

fix

If the Monitor Console computer from which you launch the Module Installer has access to the internet, download and install the modules from the NetIQ AutoSync server again.  The modules have been re-signed and should install correctly.

If the Monitor Console computer from which you launch the Module Installer does not have access to the internet, or you otherwise do not want to download the modules again, you can work around this issue by completing the following steps:

Note: If you have an agent or central computer installed on the Monitor Console computer, completing these steps could cause data integrity issues. We recommend that you only perform these steps on a Monitor Console computer with no agent or central computer installed.

  1. Set the system clock to June 9th on the Monitor Console computer that you use to install modules.
  2. Reinstall the modules.
  3. Reset the system clock to the current date.
