To configure Log Manager for iSeries:

  1. Ensure the Configure Log Manager for iSeries module is installed.  
    1. Start the Security Manager Log Manager console.
    2. Start the Module Installer and browse to the Modules folder in the Security Manager installation folder.
    3. ClickOK.
    4. After the Available Modules window updates, scroll down to the Log Manager section and ensure the Log Manager for iSeries module check box is gray (installed).
    5. If the box is not gray, select the Log Manager for iSeries check box, and then click Install to install the Configure Log Manager for iSeries module.
  2. Ensure subsystem ZPSE is running on the iSeries servers from which you want to collect data.
    1. To check whether subsystem ZPSE is running, on an iSeries command line, type the following command and press Enter: WRKSBSJOB SBS(ZPSE)
    2. If subsystem ZPSE is not running, on an iSeries command line, type the following command and press Enter: STRSBS SBSD(PSCOMMON/ZPSE)
  3. Configure Security Manager Log Manager.
    1. Start the Security Manager Log Manager console.
    2. Start the Configuration Wizard.
    3. On the Security Manager Configuration Wizard window, click Log Manager.
    4. Click Configure Log Manager for iSeries.
    5. On the Configure Log Manager for iSeries window, click Next.
    6. Select your central computer and click Next.
    7. On the Managed iSeries Computers window, click Add to add the iSeries servers from which you want to collect data.
    8. On the Specify iSeries Computers to Manage window, specify the system name, IP address, and port number for each computer and click OK.
    9. Click Next and specify the collection schedule.
    10. Click Finish.
