Event ID 9548 is seen in the Application Event Log on an Exchange 2003 server whenever users are sent to the Recycle Bin using Directory Resource and Administrator.

symptom
Event ID 9548 is recorded or written to the Application Event Log on Exchange 2003 servers when using DRA to throw away user accounts.

symptom

Event Log Error: 'Disabled User < > does not have a master account SID. Please use Active Directory MMC to set an active account as this user's master account.'

cause
This issue is related to using the Active Directory Connector (ADC) with native tools. This issue is not caused by using Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA).
