Situation

Agent remote installation is extremely slow on an HP, Dell, or Compaq computers.
Agent installation on the local computer takes much longer than expected.
Installation seems to hang

Resolution

To resolve the issue, wait for the installation to complete. To attempt to work around this issue if the installation does not complete:

  1. Cancel the installation.
  2. Disable the RAC or RIB service(s).
  3. Perform the installation.
  4. Enable the RAC or RIB service(s).


Cause

A Dell RAC Card or HP/Compaq RIB Board interferred with the file transfer and installation process. The Dell RAC card and HP/Compaq RIB Boards include a self-contained operating system which can interfere with file transfers and software installations. Installation could take 10 minutes or more, and may not complete.
