To uninstall and then reinstall PSSecure, complete the following steps. Please note that deleting the 1PSS001 licensed program removes all user data for the Profile & Password Management, Object Authority Management, Inactive Session Monitor, Secure Menuing System, and Secure File Editor components.

  1. Remove all PSSecure references.
    1. End subsystems associated with PSSecure:
      • To end the Remote Request Management (RRM) collection monitor subsystem, on an iSeries command line, type the following command and press Enter:
        ENDSBS ZPSSMON *IMMED
      • To end the Inactive Session Monitor (ISM) subsystem, on an iSeries command line, type the following command and press Enter:
        ENDSBS ZASBS *IMMED
    2. Check for locks on PSSecure.
      1. On an iSeries command line, type the following command and press Enter:
        WRKOBJLCK OBJ(QSYS/PSSECURE) OBJTYPE(*LIB)
      2. Ensure no jobs are locking the PSSecure library.
    3. Remove the PSSecure exit programs referenced on the PPM Defaults screen.
      1. To access the PPM Defaults screen, from PSMENU, select options 2, 2, 1, and 16.
      2. Change the Archive profiles deleted outside of PSSecure value to N.
      3. Press Enter.
    4. For profile synchronization, from PSMENU, select options 2, 2, 2, and 11 to select the Remove User Profile Exit Programs option.
    5. Use one of the following methods to remove all PSSecure referenced programs from user profile initial programs:
      • Use WRKUSRPRF to go through all user profiles manually.
      • Use the Profiles by Initial Program/Menu report to display initial programs for all users. (To access this report, from PSMENU, select options 1, 1, 8, and 10).
    6. Save library PSSECURE to your preferred media.
  2. Delete the PSSecure licensed program by typing the following command on an iSeries command line and pressing Enter:
    DLTLICPGM LICPGM(1PSS001)
  3. Reinstall the PSSecure licensed program:
    1. On an iSeries command line, type the following command and press Enter:
      RSTLICPGM LICPGM(1PSS001) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(PSINSTALL/SVFPSS00)
    2. Revert to any original settings changed above.
