Situation

The memory utilization reported by the UNIX_MemUtil Knowledge Script does not match the operating system report.

A discrepancy exists between the HP-UX operating system tools and the values gathered by UNIX_MemUtil Knowledge Script.

Resolution

NetIQ Corporation has developed a replacement Knowledge Script, but the Knowledge Script has not been tested on all environments.

Cause

The Knowledge Script uses the operating system command, swapinfo, to report memory usage. However, HP has identified a known issue with that command reporting incorrect information.
