Error: 'Failed persisting report to database' when running policy templates against the version 8.0 iSeries agent.

symptom
Security checks and policy templates are sucessfully run against the version 7.5 iSeries agent, but they fail when run against the version 8.0 iSeries agent.

fix

To enable Vulnerability Manager to successfully run security checks and policy templates against the version 8.0 iSeries agent:

  1. Using a text editor, open Program Files\Netiq\Vulnerability Manager\Core Services\mk.options.

  2. Type the following line in the mk.options file:

  3. gladiator/securitycheckup/filter/ascii=true

  4. Save and close the file.

  5. Stop and restart the NetIQ Core Services service.
