cause

NetIQ Technical Support has recognized the following as GPA issues:

• If you installed the GPA Server and the GPA Console on different computers, GPA cannot send email notfications or log GPO events.
• GPA does not display comments entered when exporting a GPO using the Export Override service account.
• GPA does not display the name of the user account requesting the GPO export when exporting a GPO using the Export Override service account.

These issues result from changes made during the last release of GPA. Hotfix 52038 addresses these issues.

Hotfix 52038 addresses the following issues with NetIQ Group Policy Administrator (GPA):

• GPA does not send email notifications or log GPO events if you installed the GPA Server and the GPA Console on different computers.
• When using the Export Override service account to export GPOs:
• GPA does not display comments entered when exporting a GPO in the Comments field in email notifications, in the Comments field in GPO export events logged in the Windows application event log, or in the Details field in the GPO History window.
• GPA does not display the name of the user account requesting the GPO export.

This hotfix resolves these issues and ensures GPA:

• Sends email notifications and logs GPO events when you install the GPA Server and the GPA Console on different computers.
• Correctly displays comments entered by the user when exporting a GPO using the Export Override service account in the Comments field in email notifications, in the Comments field in GPO export events logged in the Windows application event log, and in the Details field in the GPO History window.
• Displays the name of the user account requesting the GPO export in the Comments field in email notifications, in the Comments field in GPO export events logged in the Windows application event log, and in the Details field in the GPO History window.

To install this hotfix, perform the following steps:

1. Close all GPA user interfaces.
2. Run the GPA50000_Hotfix52038.exe file on each computer where you installed the GPA Console or GPA Server.

This hotfix modifies the following files:
