Cannot add existing users to groups.

symptom
Assistant Admins with rights to view and modify group properties are unable to add users to groups.

cause
The Group Administration role was not delegated and the specific power Add Object to Group is missing from the delegation model.

fix

Either use the Group Administration role or delegate the specific power Add Object to Group.

To delegate the Group Administration role to an assistant administrator:

  1. Right-click the active view and select Properties.
  2. Click the assignments tab.
  3. Select the assistant admin you want to delegate this role to.
  4. Click Add> Delegate more powers to <Name of Assistant Admin>...
  5. Click Add >Roles.
  6. Select the Group Administration role and click Add.
  7. Click OK and Finish.

To delegate the specific power Add Object to Group:

  1. Right-click the active view and select Properties.
  2. Click the assignments tab.
  3. Select the assistant admin you want to delegate this role to.
  4. Click Add > Delegate more powers to <Name of Assistant Admin>...
  5. Click Add >Powers
  6. Select the Add Object to Group power and click Add.
  7. Click OK and Finish.
