symptom

Prompted for database credentials when attempting to view Full report.

symptom
Unable to view Full report.

symptom
Attempting to view the Full report hangs the GUI.

symptom
VM asks for database credentials when accessing Full report.

cause
This issue is caused by a size limitation in Crystal Reports, which is the application used to view the full report.  There is too much data in the report to be viewed in 'Full' report mode.

fix

There is currently no fix for this issue.  The workaround is to limit the amount of data displayed in the report.

You can limit the data returned in several ways: by splitting security check data into subreports by endpoint, by turning off security checks for detailed data, or by removing security checks that return large numbers of records.

To split security check detailed data into subreports by endpoint:

  1. Open the completed report.
  2. Click Full report options.
  3. Click Split security checks detailed data into subreports.
  4. Click OK and then attempt to view the full report.

To turn off security checks for detailed data:

  1. Open the completed report.
  2. Click Full report options.
  3. Clear Security checks for detailed data.
  4. Click OK and then attempt to view the full report.

To remove security checks from the template that return large numbers of records:

  1. Open the completed report.
  2. Select Data view.
  3. Examine the report to determine how many records are included per specific security check.
  4. Close the report.
  5. Open the policy template.
  6. Remove any checks that return a large number of records, noting which checks they are.
  7. Create a new policy template and include the checks removed from the original template.
  8. Run the new template.  We recommend that you run the new template after hours or at another time when network traffic is low.
  9. Attempt to view the full report from the original template.

If none of the above resolves the issue, identify the security checks that return large amounts of data and add filters to the check to limit the amount of data returned.
