You can manage contacts in Directory and Resource Administrator (DRA) by creating an ActiveView and delegating powers to modify contact properties to specific users or groups.

To create an ActiveView to manage all contacts in a domain:

  1. Open the Delegation and Configuration Console.
  2. Expand Delegation Management > ActiveViews.
  3. On the toolbar, click New ActiveView to open the Create ActiveView Wizard.
  4. In the Create ActiveView Wizard window, click Next.
  5. Click Add and select Objects that match a rule.
  6. Under Accounts, click Contacts.
  7. Click any domain and select Specific Domain.
  8. Select the domain in which you want to manage contacts and click OK.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Type a name for the ActiveView in the Name field and click Next.
  12. Leave the I want to delegate power over this ActiveView after I finish this wizard check box selected and click Finish.
  13. Click OK at the Warning message.

To delegate powers to manage contacts to a specific user or group:

  1. In the Delegation Wizard window, click Next.
  2. Click Add and select Users, Groups, or Advanced > Assistant Admin Groups, as appropriate.
  3. Type the name of the user or group to which you want to delegate powers in the contains field and click Find Now.
  4. In the Results list, select the user or group name and click Add.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Add and select Powers.
  8. Type Contact in the contains field and click Find Now.
  9. In the Results list, select Modify All Contact Properties and click Add.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Click Next again and then click Finish.
